2017 Applications now completed.

For the past two years, a group of engaged stakeholders have met in Bayfield to work together to grow Bayfield’s tourism economy. The group has aligned around Bayfield’s DNA of an artistic heritage village set on the shores of Lake Huron, with an underlying core value of sustainability.

The group is working on four streams of destination development which include benchmarking and metrics, destination development strategy, amplifying the Bayfield story, and experience and product development.

ABOUT THE DESTINATION ANIMATION STRATEGIC CO-INVESTMENT PROJECT

To enable experience and product development implementation, the Bayfield Destination Animation Project has been launched in order to create truly unique experiences for both visitors and residents. The Project focuses on enabling feasible projects that are highly shareable and have high impact on the destination. Submissions need to clearly outline how each project will leverage social media sharing to help promote the event, and also enable social sharing in realtime by participants, thereby effectively marketing the destination by virtue of the experience itself. Social media metrics and reporting will be a key component of each final report.

The 2017 Bayfield Destination Animation Project has $15,000 available for proposals. Applications may be for any amount from $500 up to $5000. The Destination Animation Selection Committee will review and award the proposals.
